Burma's 2010 Elections Video Clips. Duration : 6.23 Mins.

Burma will hold general elections this fall, for the first time since Aung San Suu Kyi and her National League for Democracy overwhelmingly won the polls in 1990, but were barred from leading the country by the military. This time, the elections will again not be free and fair, and the election laws have drawn widespread international criticism. Among the problems: 1) All political prisoners, religious leaders and civil servants are banned from running 2) The election commission is selected by the military junta 3) The 2008 constitution guarantees the military continued control 4) There will be no resolution of differences between the military and ethnic minorities 5) The elections laws make it impossible for any party not supported by the military to run a mass campaign Join the US Campaign for Burma in condemning these elections, and demanding that true democracy is established in Burma.
