SOFIA, Bulgaria — Bulgarian police detained a man after he pointed a gas pistol at an ethnic Turkish party leader as he was delivering a speech at a party caucus in the capital Saturday. No shots were fired. The video from the Saturday event in Sofia shows the man climbing the podium where Ahmed Dogan, the leader of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms, was speaking, and pointing the gun to his face. Dogan struck the man before he could pull the trigger, while other delegates wrestled the assailant to the ground. TV footage showed several people punching, kicking and stomping on the man when he was on the ground. Police arrested him and took him to a hospital. It wasn't immediately clear if he sustained serious injuries, or how he got past security to enter the hall with nearly 3000 people attending. Eventually, the attacker was identified by police as 25-year-old Oktai Enimehmedov, a Bulgarian national and ethnic Turk, from the coastal city of Burgas. He was carrying the gas pistol and two knives. A gas pistol is a non-lethal weapon used for self ...

postheadericon This is another Thailand, most of you have never seen, the fabulous North

This is another Thailand, most of you have never seen, the fabulous North Tube. Duration : 14.92 Mins.

We assume that most of you have seen Thailand. Phuket and Ko Samui are highly regarded by many but personally I think the most beautiful part of Thailand in the north can be found. High mountains, tall forests and tropical rainforests, ethnic minorities and not the commercial where one group of holiday-makers must give way to the other but the real and they are still available. A gifted with a very low humidity climate. What a hide, for example south of Bangkok where there is often a blanket over you. Where in the south, rain is often spoilsport; in Chiang Mai we have rain but not a monsoon rain. Mae Hong Son, Mae Sariang, Pai, Doi Angkhan and several beautiful places in the north. What about the national parks such as Doi Inthanon the highest mountain of Thailand, the many waterfalls and the Doi Suthep National Park. Each more beautiful than the other. It is no coincidence that during the New Year all hotels are fully booked and that almost all here from Bangkok, Chiang Mai encounter. I dare say, at this time of year the weather is as everyone would wish. Near Chiang Rai, the most remarkable mountain in Thailand, Phu Chi Fa, see to believe. The Mekong river, too numerous to mention. May live here, I speak for many who retire here are coming to be fantastic! Come see for yourself.

The RPG Fanatic Review Show - ★ Valkyria Chronicles II Video Game Review ★ Video Clips. Duration : 4.50 Mins.

rpgfanatic.net This is a review for the tactical roleplaying videogame Valkyria Chronicles 2 by SEGA for the Playstation Portable. From the developer: "Two years have passed since Squad 7 defeated Maximillian in Gallia during the Second Europan War. A rebel group made up of dissatisfied aristocrats and like-minded soldiers and citizens calling themselves the Gallian Revolutionary Army begins a civil war to wage an ethnic cleansing campaign against Gallians of Darcsen descent.[5] However, with the intense fight against the Empire having left Gallia's regular army in an exhausted state, there is initially little to stop the insurrection from gaining momentum. Laws preventing the formation of a national militia to fight fellow Gallians force the government to deploy military academy cadets to the front lines in order to combat and defeat the GRA forces. Among the students sent out on the field is 17-year-old Avan Hardins, a young man who enrolled in Lanseal Military Academy after the death of his older brother, Leon." The game has anime cutscenes, military simulation combat, visual novel elements and a great soundtrack. This review discusses the gameplay of the game, and of course, there is occasional humor and funny jokes! How I review games: I do not use a rating system. I think rating systems are silly. Unlike many game reviewers I try to review a game from the perspective of who I believe the target audience of the game is supposed to be. If I personally don't belong to ...

The Steelband Movement: The Forging of a National Art in Trinidad and Tobago

The Steelband Movement examines the dramatic transformation of pan from a Carnival street music into a national art and symbol in Trinidad and Tobago. By focusing on pan as a cultural process, Stephen Stuempfle demonstrates how the struggles and achievements of the steelband movement parallel the problems and successes of building a nation.

Stuempfle explores the history of the steelband from its emergence around 1940 as an assemblage of diverse metal containers to today's immense orchestra of high-precision instruments with bell-like tones. Drawing on interviews with different generations of pan musicians (including the earliest), a wide array of archival material, and field observations, the author traces the growth of the movement in the context of the grass-roots uprisings of the 1930s and 1940s, the American presence in Trinidad in World War II, the nationalist movement of the postwar period, the aftermath of independence from Britain in 1962, the Black Power protests and the oil boom of the 1970s, and the recession of recent years.

The Steelband Movement suggests that the history of pan has involved a series of negotiations between different ethnic groups, socioeconomic classes, and social organizations, all of which have attempted to define and use the music according to their own values and interests. This drama provides a window into the ways in which Trinidadians have constructed various visions of a national identity.
