postheadericon EF2012 - Why Study So Hard? Questions I wish I had good answers to when my children asked (Part 1)

EF2012 - Why Study So Hard? Questions I wish I had good answers to when my children asked (Part 1) Tube. Duration : 18.22 Mins.

About the Presentation Why study so hard? Answer : So you can get a good job in future . Is this really true? And is this the reason why we put our children through schools and tuition classes? Children are hardly concerned about future job worries. So parents seem to be caught in a 'lose - lose' situation of having to push their children to academic excellence, and then having to face huge emotional problems when their children see them as the 'bad guys' who apply pressure and undue stress. Dr Tan will share some of the struggles and successes of navigating his family through the educational ladder; asking the whys, whats and hows of trying to educate children better, and to think deeper about the importance of character formation versus the successful completion of worksheets. About the Speaker Dr Tan Lai Yong worked as a doctor in Singapore before going to Yunnan, China, to work with orphans, disabled and leprosy-affected children. In his 15 years in Yunnan, he created innovative approaches to teaching healthcare to minority ethnic groups, planned surgery for cleft palate babies, and helped with the rural poor. During China's National Day celebrations in 2004, at an event graced by Premier Wen Jia Bao, Dr Tan received the Friendship Award. He also received the Singapore International Foundation Award presented by Mr. Lee Hsien Loong. He has written several books and his first book 'Biting the Bamboo - Experiences of Work and Life in Yunnan' is in its fifth printing. He ...

postheadericon HeyRuka- Genetics vs. Eugenics, pt 1- Genetic and Taxanomic Basis for "Race"

HeyRuka- Genetics vs. Eugenics, pt 1- Genetic and Taxanomic Basis for "Race" Video Clips. Duration : 14.63 Mins.

Expand me! HeyRuka's video: www.youtube.com When you compare Eugenicist mantra about "race" to what Biology actually says, you come to a much different picture, one that illumates why most Biologists and Biochemists haven't endorsed Eugenics since the early 1900's, with the exception of only a few notable examples of brilliant minds going crazy in their older age. Biologists and Biochemists turn to the field of Genetics and its sub-branches to answer questions of ancestry and evolution, especially at the molecular level. Nature only reflects what you think it does when you squint your eyes hard at things taken out of context. Nature is brutal, merciless, and unrelenting to everyone and everything. Life in general is as inconsequential to nature as a rock. The difference between how organisms fare has nothing to do with skin color, but how populations of organisms adapt. "Race" has been a useless term since the early 1900's, when we first started to learn about how genetic variability interacts with populations and natural selection. That uselessness was confirmed for the final time upon the completion of the Human Genome Project. You site science, in particular evolution and genetics, in support of your views, only understanding enough to show that you've been introduced to the concepts, but you fail to realize that neither Science nor Nature support anyone's views. Those who site science in support of any one worldview or a group of worldviews are typically talking out ...

postheadericon Alan Keyes calls Obama a radical communist and questions his birth certificate

Alan Keyes calls Obama a radical communist and questions his birth certificate Video Clips. Duration : 4.03 Mins.

This is a very important reupload from February 21st 2009. Description from keyes2008's channel: www.youtube.com Alan Keyes was a featured speaker at a fundraiser for the Triple A Crisis Pregnancy Center in Hastings, Nebraska, on February 19, 2009, where a reporter from KHAS-TV interviewed him about his thoughts on Obama. With conviction, Alan firmly stated that Obama is a radical communist (which he is) and a usurper (which he has done since he hasn't produced an original birth certificate). And that Obama supports infanticide--the killing of babies born alive after botched abortions. The story was later picked up by Keith Olberman of MSNBC who spent time on the show calling Alan Keyes names in order to diminish the importance of what Alan said. Alan must have hit a nerve. Go Alan!

postheadericon Norway and Third World Immigration

Norway and Third World Immigration Video Clips. Duration : 3.42 Mins.

First published on BNP Website: bnp.org.uk -- All 21 reported cases of rape with aggravated assault — the highest number since records were started — in the Norwegian capital of Oslo last year were committed by non-Western immigrants and 90 percent of all rape victims were Norwegian women, police have announced. Oslo police spokesman Hanne Kristine Rohde defied the strictures of political correctness to release the figures in an interview on the national Norwegian broadcaster, NRK. She said she was aware that the statistics are controversial. When she was asked by NRK if the police were not stigmatising an entire community by releasing the statistics, Ms Rohde said she wants to contribute to a better and safe world. Thats why the truth needs to be told. I hope the debate will focus on that, she told NRK. According to the police figures, the number of rapes with violent assault committed in Oslo also doubled compared to 2008. According to the police statement, in each and every case, not only in 2008 and 2009 but also in 2007, the offender was a non-Western immigrant. At the same time, in 9 out of 10 cases, the victim was Norwegian, not just by nationality, but also by ethnicity. The NRK report concluded that not a single one of the offenders had a Western background. Four people have been arrested. In all other cases, the victims reported that the offenders either looked like non-Western immigrants, or they spoke a non-Western language. Not a single case has been ...

Sourav Ganguly fields your questions Video Clips. Duration : 16.38 Mins.

From the website www.webchats.tv The man who former England captain Geoffrey Boycott called The Prince of Calcutta' has travelled the world throughout his record-breaking career. Sourav Ganguly is the seventh Indian cricketer to have played 100 Test matches, the fifth highest overall Test run scorer for India and the fourth Indian to have played in more than 300 One Day Internationals. As the most successful Test captain of his country, Ganguly led India in a record 49 Test matches between 2000 and 2005. His teammates affectionately called him Dada, which means eldeer brother in Bengali, but constant touring meant Sourav was regularly away from his real family, often for long stretches of time. Other great sportsmen and women have succumbed to the stress and lonliness of travelling for the job, so Sourav joins us in our live interactive web TV show to talk about life as a cricketer travelling the globe. Research from Vyke shows that 40% of people from British ethnic communities keep in touch with their families by calls and text, showing that you don't need to be an international sports star to face the problem of keeping in touch with loved ones abroad. Log in to ask Sourav about his career and how he copes with the challenges of staying in touch when he's away from home.
